Warming and sweat creams make your skin feel warm and can make you sweat more where you put them on, especially under a waist trainer or wrap. They don't change body fat, and the extra sweat is water that comes back when you drink. Use one because you like the warm feel during a workout, not to change your shape.
We sell warming creams, a cooling gel and a sweat wrap, so you'd expect us to oversell them. Plenty of brands do. This is the straight version, plus how to get the most out of a cream if you decide you want one.
What does a sweat cream actually do?
A warming cream contains ingredients that create a feeling of heat or tingle on your skin. Put a trainer or wrap over it and that heat has nowhere to go, so the area gets warmer and you sweat more there. That's the whole effect, and it's a real one. Many customers like it as a warm-up ritual before cardio: the cream goes on, the trainer goes on, and they feel ready to work.
Does sweating more mean better results?
No. Cleveland Clinic's sports medicine team explains that sweat is your body cooling itself, made mostly of water and electrolytes, and that much of the weight you lose through sweat returns once you rehydrate. Calories are burned by your muscles doing work, not by sweat. A soaked trainer lining means you were warm, and that's all it means.
The same goes for the scale. If you weigh yourself straight after a sweaty session in a cream, trainer and wrap, the number may dip. Drink a bottle of water and it'll come back.
So why use one at all?
- You like the warm feeling. Some people feel looser and more ready to move when their core is warm.
- It's a routine that gets you to the gym. Cream, trainer, wrap, go. Small rituals help people show up.
- The cooling side feels good afterward. A cooling gel after a hot session is simply pleasant.
If none of those matter to you, skip the cream. Your waist trainer works the same without it.
Our creams and what each one is for
| Product | Feel | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Tight & Toned Cream | Warming | Before a workout, massaged in before you hook in your trainer |
| Firming & Cooling Gel | Cool and fresh, fast-absorbing aloe gel | After a workout or on hot days |
| Sculpt & Smooth Caffeine Cream | Light caffeine body cream | After you shower, on thighs, hips and tummy, for smoother-looking skin |
| Thermo Wrap | Holds in heat | Around your waist, arms or thighs during a workout, under your trainer or on its own |
The Tight & Toned Cream is the one most customers pair with their trainer. The Firming & Cooling Gel is its opposite, for after. If you want both, the Pre & Post Cream Kit has the warming cream, the cooling cream and a Thermo Wrap together.
What is a Thermo Wrap, and does it work?
The Thermo Wrap is a stretchy sweat wrap. It works the same way a warming cream does, just without the cream: it holds your own heat against your skin, so you sweat more under it. Same honest answer. It makes you warmer while it's on, and that sweat is water. Wear it under your trainer or on its own, and take it off if you feel dizzy or too hot.

How to use a warming cream with a waist trainer
- Patch test first. Put a little on the inside of your arm and wait a day before using it on a bigger area.
- Use a thin layer. A thick layer only adds heat. Never on broken, irritated or freshly shaved skin.
- Let it soak in before you hook in. Give it a few minutes to absorb so less ends up on your trainer. Keeping oils and oil-based lotions off latex helps it last.
- Wash your hands and keep it away from your eyes and face.
- Drink water during and after your session.
- Take it off if it burns. Warm is normal. Burning, a rash or itching isn't. Rinse with cool water and stop using it.
- Clean your trainer after. Spray the inside with Spray & Go Trainer Cleaner and let it air dry. Our cleaning guide has the full routine.
Who should skip warming creams
Skip them if you have very sensitive skin, eczema or an open wound where you'd apply it. If you're pregnant, breastfeeding or managing a medical condition, ask your doctor before using any warming product.
Save when you add a cream
If you're buying a trainer anyway, the Trainer, Cream & Wrap Kit discounts the Thermo Wrap when you add a cream. Already have a trainer? Build a Care Bundle with any creams, the cooling gel, the Thermo Wrap, Spray & Go or a sweat vest: any 2 items save 10%, and 3 or more save 15%. Both are on our Packages page, and the savings apply automatically in your bag.
Warm up, cool down

Do sweat creams work on belly fat?
No. They make the area feel warm and sweat more. They don't change body fat, and the extra sweat is water you replace when you drink.
Can I use a sweat cream under a waist trainer?
Yes. Use a thin layer, let it absorb for a few minutes before you hook in, and clean the inside of your trainer afterward.
Should I use a cream before or after a workout?
A warming cream goes on before. A cooling gel feels best after, or on hot days.
Does the Thermo Wrap work without a cream?
Yes. It holds your own body heat in, so you'll feel warm and sweat more under it with or without a cream.
Is it OK to use a warming cream every day?
If your skin is fine with it, yes. Patch test first, skip irritated skin, and stop if you get a rash or burning.
